Our house 'Basen vår'Our house 'Basen vår' is situated in Isfjorden near the small town Åndalsnes. The house is surrounded by beautiful mountains like Kirketaket, Vengetindene, Romsdalshorn, Blånebba....
This old timber house, 2-300 years old, will be our 'Basen vår' with tours and activities either separately, or with 'Solli' in combination.
We bought one half of the house and the property late in the autumn 2007, the second half in the autumn 2009. Now - finally, we can speed up for completion of the renovation we started in autumn 2008.
Completion date for taking the house in use for our guests: Winterseason 2011 (hopefully...).
'Solli' is having her sailingtime specified in the sailingplan, the possibilities for renting the house will be the whole year. The house is undergoing a total renovation: New wooden shielding on all outer walls, completely insulated. New roof. A complete new part is built at the entrance side of the house. This new part contains an extra bedroom on the roof. In second floor: 2 separate bath and toiletrooms with showers, 1 washing and dryingroom for clothes, shoes etc. - everything brand modern. Then through an old door and we are 200 - 300 years back in history in the old part of the house.
We have hired an architect to make all the plans and drawings in order to make the new and old parts fit together.
The plans and ideas for the house and Solli-Adventure activities in combination are many: We may lodge one group living their whole stay in the house. It will be possible for 2 separate groups to stay in the house - in second floor.. Groups may combine some days in the house and some days in 'Solli'. And in any case there will be possible to have a shower and dry clothes/shoes after mountain activities when living in 'Solli' and we are in the Åndalsnes district.
We have a separate house - an old bakery - with a huge woodenfired fire place. Benched around with a good meal and drinking after a tour...cosy.
Third house: An old barn - again, we have plans in our minds...
And off course: we will have a separate, wooden fired sauna, in another small house - also a former barn.. | |
