A loooong tour 2010: Molde - Shetland - Faroe Islands - Frøya, mid Norway - Lofoten, northern Norway (Solli-Adventure - (terminated)
From 20/5-2010 to 4/7-2010 3 main legs, separate booking for each leg: 1). Molde - Shetland 20 - 30/5. (300 nm) 2). Shetland - Faroe Islands 30/5 - 13/6. (240 nm) 3). Faroe Islands - Frøya (Norway), 13/6 - 20/6 (week 24). (400 nm), Frøya - Lofoten, Northern Norway 206 - 4/7. ('Holiday trip' for Inger and the captain!) (Distances in Nautical miles, nm)
In the third leg we sail directly from the Faroe Islands to the western coast of Norway. We will then end up at Bogøyvær (Frøya) outside Trondheim. This is a historical place for 'Solli', she was stationed here nearly 20 years before the second world war, Estimated time for the crossing Faroe Islands - Frøya: 1 week. Here you go onshore and end your stay onboard, before we continue our sailing up north for Lofoten. This tour has most of it: Coastal sailing, ocean deep sea sailing, visiting remote fishing settlements, walking tours onshore. We are foreign visitors, but in another way "at home" due to the historical connections between Norway an these islands in older time.We plan to spend as much time as possible on shore, that is why we have a big time window on each leg. No rush! We sail anyway since this is a tour we have planned for a long time, but there might be some places available on a leg that might suit you...Contact us for more details |
